"Cherchez La Femme"

.... means many things. The literal translation is "look for the woman," and the generally-understood meaning is that a woman is at the bottom of it all (she began it, she's to blame, she's the solution you seek...).  This drawing comes from thinking that Picasso looked for a woman whenever ... he really needed to create a breakthrough work, like the Demoiselles.
